Documentation Basics Notifications

Notifications

Choose what each workspace tells you, and how.

Your Notifications page

Open the menu under your name at the top of the dashboard and choose Notifications. The page shows only what applies to you, and your choices are yours alone: nobody else's alerts change. If you belong to more than one workspace, each has its own settings.

Email goes to the address you sign in with. While you are out of office, inbox alerts and email about new leads and leads assigned to you stop until you are back. Email about the workspace and Social still arrives.

Support

Shown when you work in the inbox. Each alert, such as new messages, conversations assigned to you, escalations, risk flags on conversations (see Mood and risks; not in UniversalDesk) and ticket news, has a push switch and an email switch. These are the same switches as in the inbox app's settings, so a change in one place shows in the other.

  • Push goes to the phones and browsers you use the inbox app on, and is on until you turn it off.
  • Email is off until you turn it on. It is sent only while you are away from the inbox, at most once per conversation every 15 minutes. Email about being assigned a conversation, or about a new risk on one, is not held back by that limit.

Marketing

Shown in UniversalChatbot to marketing agents, the owner, managers and admins, and to everyone when the workspace sends new leads to everyone. Email about new leads, leads assigned to you, posts waiting for your approval, decisions on your posts, posts that fail to publish and listening alerts is sent when it concerns you, until you turn it off here.

The workspace also decides who is told about new leads, under Settings → Workspace → Organization (see Leads). Turning new leads off here stops them for you, whatever the workspace chose.

Workspace

Shown to the owner, managers and admins. Email about the workspace itself comes in three groups:

  • Usage warnings: allowances and storage running low.
  • Limits, plan changes and payments: a limit reached, a plan that switched something off, a payment problem, a subscription ending.
  • Channel connections: a channel or social account that stopped working or needs reconnecting.

The owner gets all three. The owner can turn off usage warnings, but always gets the other two, because they need someone to act. Admins get none of them until they turn on the groups they want.

Your account

Email that keeps your account safe is always sent: confirming your address, password resets and changes, turning two-factor authentication on or off, unlocking your account, and invitations to a workspace.
